Over a medicinal hot honey and lemon, Omar describes how he’s been pushing the boundaries of British Soul for the last 25 years. Classically trained in percussion at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he has remained open to all kinds of music. Omar draws on genres as diverse as punk, latin, jazz and classical in order to keep his sound fresh and constantly evolving.

Ska Cubano interview

Ska Cubano are the visionaries of an alternative musical history. They are the brain child of Peter A. Scott, who wanted to envisage how Cuban music might have developed had the 1959 revolution not ended a rich history of Cuban-Caribbean musical collaboration.
  
Along with Natty Bo of legendary London ska band Top Cats, Scott went on to recruit Megumi Mesaku, Beny Billy, Eddie Thornton and Rey Crespo, all top musicians in their field. Between them, they bring mambo, rumba, rock, reggae, ska and son to the melting pot.
